Order of Worship for Sunday August 7, 2022

The next installment of the Glenelg UMC Concert Series will feature Saxton’s Cornet Band from the Lexington, KY area.  This one-of-a-kind Civil War-era band has been touring the world and performing on stage and screen for more than 30 years, including appearances in feature films, “Gettysburg” and “The Day Lincoln Was Shot.”

The program will begin at 4pm, during which time the band will provide a pre-concert “Meet the Band” session in order to give the audience a short history of bands like this and the music of this time period. The concert itself will begin at 5pm. The program is free to attend, and there will be a love offering collected that will help offset the group’s travel expenses. A reception will follow in Eyre Hall.

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name….

Glenelg United Methodist Church is located on a quiet, serene campus in Western Howard County just down the road from Glenelg High School. The congregation is large enough to be able to provide some of the finest music and program offerings of any church in a traditional style, yet small enough for everyone to be involved and needed.

In short, it is a wonderful church home waiting for you.
